Tämä teos esitettiin eri puolilla Helsinkiä ulkotiloissa toukokuussa 2026. Lisäksi teos esitettiin Espoossa Gallen-Kallelan museon edessä, Kauppakeskus Sellossa ja Espoon Kulttuurikeskuksen ulkoilmanäyttämöllä AMFI
This performance was on tour in Helsinki in May 2026 using the city as a landscape and scenography for the work. The tour continued in Espoo area with three performances in the city of Espoo. Again, the locations gave atmosphere and built a dialogue with the movement.
FIGURE SOLAIRE
Koreografi Favela Vera Ortizin teos FIGURE SOLAIRE sai ensi-iltansa toukokuussa 2026 Parrulaiturilla Helsingissä. Teos käyttää kaupunkia maisemana, johon teos kiinnittyy. Jokainen esityspaikka luo oman erityisen tunnelman, ja toimii teoksen lavasteena.
FIGURE SOLAIRE viittaa hahmoon, joka kantaa sisäistä ydintä ja samalla jotakin itseään suurempaa. Se on arkkityyppi, muisti ja energia – voima, joka toistuu ja muuntuu. Teos ei esitä aurinkoa, vaan tarkastelee tällaisen voiman jälkiä kehossa, tilassa ja liikkeessä.
Tanssija Elina Valtonen kuljettaa hahmoa tilasta toiseen. Herkkyys, tarkkuus ja voima kohtaavat liikkeessä, joka avautuu, tiivistyy, katoaa ja syntyy uudelleen. Teoksen keskiössä on kehon ja ympäristön välinen suhde.
FIGURE SOLAIRE on paikkasidonnainen ulkoilmateos, jossa jokainen esityspaikka muuttaa teoksen maisemaa. Kaupunki, puisto, rakennukset, kasvillisuus, valo ja sää eivät ole vain taustaa, vaan tulevat osaksi esitystä. Helsingin Kalasatamassa Parrulaiturin betoninen urbaani ympäristö ja merimaisema antoivat teokselle yhden muodon, kun taas esimerkiksi Herttoniemen kartanon vehreä ympäristö loi sille toisen.
Jokainen paikka antaa hahmolle uuden mittakaavan ja uuden tavan ilmestyä.
ELOKUU 2026
Elokuussa 2026 teos nähtiin osana Helsingin Taiteiden Yön ohjelmistoa 20.8.2026 klo 17:00, esityspaikkana Helsingin Talvipuutarhan edusta.
Teos nähtiin elokuussa myös Vantaalla Tikkurilan uudella torilla, Taidemuseo Artsin edessä Myyrmäessä ja Håkansbölen kartanon edustalla Hakunilassa.
Choreographer Favela Vera Ortiz’s new work FIGURE SOLAIRE premiered at Parrulaituri in Helsinki. The work uses the city as a landscape to which it connects. Each performance location creates its own particular atmosphere and becomes part of the work’s scenography. At Parrulaituri in Kalasatama, for example, the urban character of the concrete pier meets the seascape. At Herttoniemi Manor Park, the lush green surroundings created an entirely different setting.
FIGURE SOLAIRE refers to a figure that carries an inner core while also embodying something greater than itself. It is an archetype, a memory and an energy – a force that repeats and transforms. The work does not depict the sun, but explores the traces of such a force in the body, in space and in movement.
Dancer Elina Valtonen carries the figure from one space to another. Sensitivity, precision and strength meet in a movement that opens, contracts, disappears and emerges again. At the heart of the work is the relationship between the body and its environment.
FIGURE SOLAIRE is a site-specific outdoor work in which each performance location transforms the landscape of the piece. The city, park, buildings, vegetation, light and weather are not merely a backdrop, but become part of the performance.
Each location gives the figure a new environment and a new way of appearing.
AUGUST 2026
In August 2026, the work was presented as part of the Night of the Arts programme in Helsinki on 20th of August, at the area in front of the Helsinki Winter Garden.
The work was also presented in Vantaa in three different locations. These locations were Paalutori in the front of Artsi Museum in Myyrmäki, New market Square in Tikkurila in the front of the City Hall and Håkansböle Manor Museum in Hakunila.
